About Me

I love talking to and meeting new people. It seems to be engrained in my DNA. When I was young, I used to walk up to strangers and talk to them. I viewed everyone as a friend and strived to make their day better. The ability to understand people has helped me both in the education and technology field. I have always loved both teaching and technology. Because of my teacher’s heart and my passion for programming. In the future I would love to use both of my skills to help teach and lead new people in the programing field.

I changed career paths and switched from my bachelors in education to obtaining a degree in Computer Information Systems from Des Moines Area community college. The knowledge and experience I have gained in education has helped me immensely in the field of computer science. Large projects within the degree was always paired with a presentation about what the project was about. I absolutely love presenting and sharing information that I have a solid understanding of. I have always enjoyed learning new technologies. Giving a presentation on a project I programmed was an amazing experience. One of my favorite projects I made was named My Pet. It was a game programmed in Python where the player could choose the type of pet they could take care of. The game was fun to see the design path as we neared completion of it. A fun but challenging part of the game development was communicating between the team I was in and the 2D artist I found that made the sprites for the game. However, I enjoy interpersonal communication and it was exciting to see all the pieces come together.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions on the projects I have made or if you need any clarification.
